To win RoC , you have to focus not on your offense , but on your defense first . Even the mightiest won't be able to defeat a well built structure . To ensure the best defensive formation the recommended formation is as :

* The Red coloured portion should be completely filled with guardian fortress on the lower end and above it the assault fortress on all 4 sides . This strengthens the cores of your defensive structure .
* In the yellow belt it is safe to place your coalition base camps as it is not best for offensive . These but it needs to be protected at an upper end because they heal your wounded/ poisoned soldiers
* At the green Belt you should place your Frontline Workshop as it is least useful in war / Defense .
The enemy will try to occupy your tiles for which he have to teleport to your world / State .
The major thing to focus after the best placement of these building is to maintain a gap after it. The far your enemy teleports , the more time you will get to defend yourself. To protect your alliance center the enemy need to be as far as possible . If you at first place your alliance center at the center , say 700,700...You are easy to be killed on all the sides. It is highly recommended to place your first alliance center as closer to the corner as possible so as to block the incoming enemy and redirect them from lesser angle . So you will be prepared when your enemy comes to hit you .
